Detailed description
This reading comprehension activity, ‘Nerves!’ asks students to answer comprehension questions about a story in which a girl overcomes nerves and plays her best at basketball. It is aimed at developing students’ awareness of semantics and encourages them to look critically at the language used in a narrative text, draw conclusions, form opinions, recall information, describe the story’s theme, as well as think about text conventions, such as italic type to show what a character is thinking but not saying.
