In these paired texts, ‘Cowboys on the Trail’ and ‘A Letter from a Horse Wrangler’ a report describes the way cattle were rounded up and moved from southern ranches to northern markets in the days before rail transport. A letter gives insight into the life of one member of the trail drive. They provide opportunities for students to practise vocabulary and comprehension skills.
