This reading comprehension activity, ‘The Farmer and the Cat’ asks students to answer questions about a tale in which a farmer welcomes a visiting cat but ignores his old cat. It is aimed at increasing students’ awareness of semantics and encourages students to recall information, draw conclusions, make predictions and think about word meanings.
