This reading comprehension exemplar, ‘The Giving Tree’ provides a model of a completed reading comprehension worksheet. It is aimed at developing students’ awareness of semantics and encourages them to look critically at the language used in a factual text in order to ascertain the meaning of individual words and phrases.
