This worksheet, ‘Graphing World Cup Host Countries’ is a fantastic resource to link mathematics with the FIFA World Cup. Students are provided with a graph to record the past host countries and on how many occasions they have held the tournament. It is an interesting research task that will graphically represent the history of the FIFA World Cup. The graph lends itself to creating a bar graph, however, students could also choose to form a line graph or a pictograph. This activity can be completed as a class or individually.
