This reading comprehension activity, ‘An American Dream’ asks students to answer comprehension questions about a story in which a man goes to live in America. It is aimed at developing students’ awareness of semantics and encourages them to look critically at the language used in a narrative text in order to ascertain the meaning and usage of individual words and phrases. It also encourages students to recall information and draw conclusions.
