Detailed description

This exercise, ‘Graphing Our Reasons to be Thankful’ involves the whole class in an activity designed to prompt thoughts about gratitude. Students are asked to collect the responses to ‘What are two things you are most thankful for this year’ and then group them into common themes (for example family and friends, good health and clean water). They are then encouraged to complete the bar graph using these responses and answer the questions in order to interpret the information from their graph. It is a wonderful way to integrate maths with the key growth mindset principal of practising gratitude.
