This worksheet, ‘Graphing Gifts’ is a fantastic resource to link mathematics to giving gifts. Students are asked to use tallies or numerals to record gifts that students in the class would choose to give to a special person. Using this table students are then provided with a graph to record their findings. The students are directed to create a bar graph, however, they could also choose to form a line graph or a pictograph. It can also be completed as a class or individually. Finally, students are then provided with a page of questions that will help them to analyse the information gathered and recorded.
